Viral video of ticketless passengers encroaching seats in reserved compartment

The chaos and challenges of train travel in certain routes were brought to the forefront in a video shared by IFS officer Akash K Verma on X. The concerning footage depicted the second tier AC compartment, typically considered a premium class, overrun by numerous passengers without tickets.

The viral video, captured on train number 12369 (Kumbha Express), shows a scenario with unauthorised individuals occupying berths, harassing passengers, and even resorting to pulling the emergency chain. The majority of the affected passengers were reported to be senior citizens, further emphasising the severity of the situation.

The disorderly scene revealed two police personnel attempting to manage the situation as ticketless encroachers disrupted the travel experience for legitimate passengers.

Verma, in his caption, expressed concern about the urgent need for intervention and sanitation on the train. He also tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the viral video.
