NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s week-long outreach trip to south-east Asian countries has been called off, amid speculations that the development is linked to the party activities after the defeat in the assembly polls.
The trip was planned much before the election results. On Friday, Rahul was to embark on a tour of Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam, and return to Delhi on December 15.He was to hold meetings with government leaders and Indian diaspora, besides featuring in seminars in universities, during his stops. The diaspora conventions were scheduled in Singapore and Malaysia. In September, Rahul went on a five-day Europe tour.
He was part of the review of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh election defeats .
