A recently held teachers’ recruitment exam by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has triggered a controversy after the question paper asked candidates to write the expanded form of the alliance of opposition parties — INDIA.
The question was included in the General Studies question paper of phase two of the teachers’ recruitment examination conducted by the BPSC on Friday.
Responding to the development, BJP spokesperson Arvind Singh hit out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the choice of the question and said, “The opposition’s coalition is a group of thugs.”
Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) is a prominent member of the opposition INDIA bloc.
On the other hand, the Congress tried to distance itself from the controversy but justified such questions in the question paper.
Congress leader Asit Nath Tiwari said such question papers were prepared by the BPSC with zero involvement of the state government and political outfits. He said the question was “completely alright” if it was a general knowledge question.
The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, popularly called INDIA bloc, was formed by the opposition parties in July. Their primary objective is to defeat the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
