Amid Israel’s war with Hamas terrorists, the country’s Defense Forces said they continued with their air and ground offensive in Gaza after ordering residents out of the centre of Gaza’s main southern city, Khan Younis. Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas ended last week, the former has expanded its ground assault into the southern half of the Gaza Strip by pushing into Khan Younis. Simultaneously, both sides have also reported a surge in fighting in the north.
According to the data provided by the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry, as least 17,700 Palestinians have died since the starting of the war. The ministry has previously said about 40 per cent of deaths were of children under 18.
